Mark Baldovinescu - A Rising Star in the UK

In the first of what will be many 1-on-1 interviews with future rising stars of the game, we are getting a close look at U14 Romanian national team invitee Mark Baldovinescu. Mark has already experienced the upper echelons of academy soccer in the UK and he was kind enough to join us for a discussion where we get to delve into the life of a premier youth soccer player that has the academies of Arsenal FC and now Watford FC on his resume.

We first met Mark at an open call testing event we hosted in London in May of 2024. Mark was the only player out of the 150 players that registered for the event to indicate he was not with a soccer club. So we didn’t think much of his participation until he actually showed up and started running through our drills. He blew us (and the tests) out of the water! Only after the event, when we had a chance to talk with Mark and his parents, did we get to learn about his soccer background and why he was without a club on that particular day. Watch our discussion below to learn about a young man that is determined to prove doubters wrong, and to show that through perseverance, his talent will eventually get the recognition it deserves.
